John E. Hill John E. Hill

John E. Hill is a partner in the Healthcare Strategy Group, LLC, and has over twenty years of experience in hospital/physician relations, physician recruiting, practice management and consulting.

Prior to joining the Healthcare Strategy Group, Mr. Hill was the founder and President of Physician Services of America for sixteen years. In that capacity, Mr. Hill directly managed Physician Services of America's recruiting, planning and consulting activities for hundreds of hospitals, physician groups, and multi-hospital systems.

Nationally known in the field of recruiting, physician relations and consulting, Mr. Hill has been a frequent presenter at various national and regional healthcare meetings and symposiums including: the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA).

He holds a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Business Administration from the Augusta State University; Augusta, Georgia. Mr. Hill is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, and the Medical Group Management Association.

David W. Miller David W. Miller

David Miller is a partner in the Healthcare Strategy Group, LLC,with a practice focusing on strategy development, medical staff development and retention, and business line planning.

Prior to joining Healthcare Strategy Group, Mr. Miller spent 15 years with Norton Healthcare in Louisville. During his tenure he served as COO of Norton Hospital, Vice President of Managed Care and Quality, Administrator of the Brown Cancer Center, and Vice President of Physician Services.

Mr. Miller has spoken extensively at national meetings, including the ACHE and AHA. His published articles include the topics of strategic planning, brand development, and quality.

He is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives. He holds a Master's Degree in Health Administration from The Ohio State University and a Bachelor's Degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute.

Timothy M. Duever Timothy M. Duever

Timothy M. Duever, MHA, joined Healthcare Strategy Group in 2008. As a Director, Mr. Duever provides expertise and leadership in the areas of hospital and physician partnerships, clinical and operational performance improvement, physician practice and hospital strategic planning, service line development, free-standing outpatient facility development, strategic and operational analysis of capital planning and budgeting, market and competitor analysis, Pay-for-Performance, and clinical co-management. A member of the Medical Group Management Association and Healthcare Financial Management Association, Mr. Duever holds a Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration from Xavier University.

Neal D. Barker Neal D. Barker

Neal D. Barker joined Healthcare Strategy Group in 2001. As Senior Project Manager/Senior Consultant, Mr. Barker provides expertise and leadership in the areas of physician manpower planning, physician practice and hospital strategic planning, physician practice mergers and consolidations, physician practice operational improvement, managed care contract evaluation, physician-hospital joint ventures, and specialty proforma projections. A member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Mr. Barker holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Healthcare Administration from the University of Louisville.

Gregory Mertz Gregory Mertz

Greg brings over 30 years of healthcare experience to Healthcare Strategy Group. As Senior Project Manager, he will focus on performance improvement of complex physician organizations in both hospital-affiliated and private settings. He will also advise clients as to the various models of physician compensation, the business impact of industry trends, and the beneficial impact of technology adoption. In consulting engagements, Greg has helped community and academic medical centers in assessing performance issues, developing strategies to improve organizational performance, and has addressed the need to enhance bottom line results through organizational redesign. Various hospital associations, physician organizations and medical group management organizations often retain Greg to speak on topics such as hospital/physician relations, medical practice management, and strategic planning related to ambulatory care programs.

M. Davis Creech M. Davis Creech

M. Davis Creech, MBA, MHA, is Senior Project Manager/Senior Consultant with Healthcare Strategy Group, LLC, heading the physician manpower planning division. With over thirteen years of experience in hospital/physician relations, practice management, and consulting, Mr. Creech's depth of knowledge and skill brings to clients strength in strategy-focused manpower planning, physician recruitment and retention strategies, physician employment, proforma projection and analysis, practice management, practice education and development, and practice marketing strategies. Mr. Creech holds a Master's Degree in Hospital and Health Services Administration and Master's Degree in Business Administration from Xavier University, and a Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Economics and Management from Centre College.

Dan J. Topp Dan J. Topp

Dan J. Topp is a Senior Consultant with Healthcare Strategy Group, LLC, with a primary focus in physician practice management, operational improvement, and physician practice strategic planning. Mr. Topp has 20 years experience as executive director and practice administrator for both small and large group, single and multiple-site, medical and surgical practices, both employed and independent. His broad experience has placed him at the helm of all aspects of practice management, from daily operations to practice expansion and reorganization, quality improvement, implementation of an EHR, service and outreach development, revision of physician compensation plans, transitioning a large group from a PHO to a private group, and piloting a pay-for-performance effort. Mr. Topp holds a Master’s Degree in Administration from the University of Northern Iowa and has served as member of the Executive Board of the Arizona Medical Group Managers Association and as President of both the state and local Medical Group Managers Associations of Arizona.

Belinda C. Muench Belinda C. Muench

Belinda C. Muench is a Senior Consultant with Healthcare Strategy Group, LLC, with a primary focus in physician manpower planning, physician compensation arrangements, organizational development, and hospital strategic planning. Ms. Muench brings to clients her broad experience in market/service line assessment and strategy development for both rural and urban hospitals. Ms. Muench holds a Master’s Degree in Health Administration and Bachelor’s of Science from The Ohio State University.

David A. Kantor David A. Kantor

David A. Kantor is President of Kantor Consulting Group, a management consulting firm which supports health care and human services organizations in addressing their planning, strategy, physician integration, mergers and acquisitions, and integrated systems issues. Prior to establishing Kantor Consulting Group, David served as a senior executive for ten years in a variety of planning, marketing, and operational roles with two integrated systems. He also served as the senior planning and marketing executive for one of the first Blue Cross/provider managed care joint ventures. David has appeared as a speaker on a variety of national and regional programs addressing health care strategy, planning, diversification, and management issues. He serves on the editorial board of Strategic Health Care Marketing and the Board of Trustees of several not-for-profit organizations, including the Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development of the American Hospital Association. David received his MBA from the Wharton School.

Travis Ansel Travis Ansel

Travis Ansel, MBA is the Manager of Growth and Infrastructure Development at Healthcare Strategy Group. In addition to his traditional consulting duties, Travis will focus on managing the development of the firm’s sales, marketing and internal infrastructure as it continues to become an industry leader in hospital/physician integration strategy. Travis also presents or co-presents for nationwide webinars on a number of topics, as well as speaks about a wide range of issues at board meetings and strategic planning retreats for his clients.

Nicholas M. DeGennaro Nicholas M. DeGennaro

Nicholas M. DeGennaro is Senior Vice President, Nueterra Healthcare, While at Nueterra, Nick has been instrumental in the development and implementation of several successful hospital and physician joint-ventures nationwide. He has been involved in 13 deals, including two of the largest in the company's history; negotiated Nueterra's largest group contract; and developed successful partnerships with multiple health systems that resulted in multiple projects with each of them. Nick's professional experience includes more than 23 years of business development and senior management positions with Fortune 500 companies, responsible for the management of large sales teams in geographical territories across the United States. Most recently he was vice president, Sales/Marketing & COO with Employer Health Services (EHS) a division of Health Midwest in Kansas City. While at EHS he helped guide the business and sales efforts to a market share over 40 percent. Nick holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Colorado State University and MBA from the University of Saint Mary.

Martin Shehan Martin Shehan

Martin Shehan is a Senior Consultant with Healthcare Strategy Group, LLC, with a primary focus on physician practice and physician network management. He has over 20 years experience in physician practice and physician network management and extensive consulting experience in physician compensation, practice merger/acquisition and operational process improvement. Mr. Shehan also has management and training experience with practice management and EHR systems. Mr. Shehan is a certified mediator of the Mediation Training Institute in Kansas City.

Carole Christian

Carole Christian Carole Christian is a partner at Wyatt, Tarrant & Combs, and is Co-Chair of the Health Care Service Team.  She has over twenty years of experience counseling hospitals, physicians, nursing homes and other providers concerning Medicare reimbursements, Medicaid appeals, fraud and abuse, licensing and other patient care matters.  She has advised clients extensively on new and emerging health care regulations, including compliance programs, electronic medical records and the Health Care Reform law.
